History of Tanjong Pagar CC
| 1960 | Known as Yan Kit Road Community Centre, was opened by the then Prime Minister Mr Lee Kuan Yew and MP for for Tanjong Pagar CC on 17 December 1960. A meeting place and a social recreation centre for the residents. |
| 1962 | Renamed Tanjong Pagar Community Centre. |
| 1982 | Upgraded – with new facilities including a computer room, a language lab, music room. Kindergarten room a hall with 3 badminton courts and 2 squash courts. |
| 1996 | Upgraded to Club status with a country club atmosphere. Added facilities include fitness room, a pottery room, study room,dance studio, karaoke lounge. |
| 2000 | An Art Gallery was built to cater for art/ceramic arts exhibitions. |
Mission of CC
• To promote active citizenship and multi racial harmony.
• To connect the citizens for community bonding and volunteer work.
• To provide affordable access to lifeskill and lifestyle activities.
• To bring the people closer to one another and the government.
The Management Committee (MC)
The MC helps the PA to build, maintain and manage the CC.
Promote racial harmony and social cohesion through the various cultural, educational, recreational, sports, social and other community activities organized for the public.
